Nokia: Shadow Puppets
Before the iPhone, Nokia was king of smart phone (and flip phones.) While on top they opened 7 flagship stores around the world including one here in NYC. These stores had video screens on all of the walls and with all those screens you need content. Nokia hired Alberto Bobbera to curate a selection of artists and designers to produce content for the screens. In addition to asking The Designers Republic, Tom Hingston Studios, This is Real Art and Matt Pyke of Universal Everything, they also asked Graphic Havoc.
Shadow Puppets was developed by David Merten, myself and Drama of Works a puppeteer company we hired based here in Brooklyn. We designed the puppets, Drama of Works made them and performed while we shot the show. After shooting we composited and edited the piece adding some animation elements here and there.
